Only personnel trained by Force Computers or qualified persons in electronics or electrical engineering are authorized to install, uninstall or maintain the SYS68K/CPU-30SEN-R and the SYS68K/CPU30SEN-R-501. The information given in this manual is meant to complete the knowledge of a specialist and must not be taken as replacement for qualified personnel. Make sure that contacts and cables of the board cannot be touched while the board is operating.

Hot insertion and extraction 

The SYS68K/CPU-30SEN-R-501 variant supports hot insertion and extraction. Hot insertion and extraction should only be done in adequate subracks with the SYS68K/CPU-30SEN-R-501 led by guide bars. This ensures that the very first pins that make contact during the insertion are the leading GND pins of the backplane connectors.The battery backup for SRAM and RTC is disabled with the default switch setting. Stored data will be lost when turning off power.

Electrostatic discharge

 incorrect board installation and uninstallation can damage circuits or shorten their life. Therefore: • Before installing or uninstalling the board, read the respective Installation section. • Before installing the board in an APN rack, check: – section “Power supply” on page 13 for the SYS68K/CPU30SEN-R or section “Power supply” on page 35 for the SYS68K/CPU-30SEN-R-501. only -R – all boards for steps that you have to take before turning off power. – Take those steps. – At last turn off power.
