The system software, version G, is supplied in the form of a system disk and is a component of the AS 235, AS 235 K and AS 235 H automation systems. It permits the upward–compatible application of user structures produced using the system versions. – AS 230 version C, D, E, or – AS 235 version A, F It can be executed on AS 235 systems together with the memory module 6DS1 844–8CA. A new memory module must additionally be used with upgraded AS 235 systems so that the system software version G can be executed. Refer to the manual (see Table 1.1) for the hardware configuration.

The AS 235, AS 235 H, AS 235 K automation systems

 are components of the TELEPERM M process control system and are used as autonomous systems for the complete automation of medium–sized industrial processes, including local operation and monitoring or linked together for larger industrial processes with central operation and monitoring via an OS system.The system software is supplied in the form of a system disk and loaded into the system memory (system RAM) using a bootstrap function (in the PROM).

The following operations are necessary to start

 the bootstrap procedure (see also Chapter 2.3.8.3) – Insert system disk into mini floppy disk unit – Slide switch on memory module to “BOOT” and simultaneously press “ZRS” key on CPU module. Information on the loading status is output during the bootstrap procedure (in text on the screen and by means of LEDs on the memory module). The system outputs “S 301” (system startup) at the end of the bootstrap procedure. Slide the switch on the memory module to “RUN” in order to load the user software and commence configuring.
