The system memory contains the software (following loading of the system disk) which always belongs to the automation system in the form of basic programs and function blocks. This software includes well over 100 standardized blocks for data acquisition, closed–loop control, open–loop control, calculation, supervision, logging, display, operation and monitoring. Instead of programming the system using individual commands and executing the necessary program tests, it is only necessary in the automation systems of the TELEPERM M process control system to configure these dedicated function blocks in order to obtain a “User program”. Software

 The software comprises the system software and the user software. The system software contains: System functions (see Chap. 2.3.1) Standard function blocks (see Chap. 9) System subroutines (see Chap. 2.3.7.4) STEP M control language (see Chap. 5.12) TML programming language (see Chap. 5.7) In addition to the function blocks for binary processing, the AS 235/AS 235 H/AS 235 K systems also enable use of the STEP M control language with which comprehensive and complex open– loop control tasks can be formulated without leaving the block structure. The TML process language can be used for special tasks. Special function blocks can be configured with it, and particularly complex functions implemented, e.g. for the mixing of binary–value and measured–value arithmetic. The system software is supplied on floppy disk. It is loaded into a system RAM submodule integrated in the memory module. The system software is loaded directly from floppy disk into an AS (boot).
