The virtual keyboard of the process operation keyboard can be re–labelled either immediately after a PBT activation by a CHECK program or by a TML program without previous activation. Re–labelling requested from a TML program will be performed when the next PBT heartbeat message is transferred to the AS (every 8 seconds).

The SET and MUX settings must be updated in the subsequent program after SYSTEM.BPBT has been called. SYSTEM.BPBT recognizes whether it has been called by a CHECK program, possibly via a subroutine (PROBLEM) inside the operator input level or whether it is executed in a cycle outside the operator input level. The p1 parameter is not relevant inside the operator input level. Since the system always processes the operator input position which is used for operator input, this parameter should not be omitted. The parameters p0 and p1 must be transferred outside the operator input level, otherwise SYSTEM.BPBT will be terminated without result.

GB.ORPA.GB229

(for operator position 1) and GB.ORPA.GB230 (for operator position 2) can be used for monitoring the execution of the process operation keyboard labelling after a PBT heart–beat message has arrived. SYST.BPBT sets the parameter GB229 (or GB230) to 0B if it is called outside the operator input level. The corresponding parameter in GB.ORPA is set (GB229 = 1B: operator position 1; GB230 = 1B: operator position 2; PBT re–labelled without operator input) after re–labelling has been initiated by a heartbeat message from the PBT. The corresponding GB parameter is set to 0B and the fault bit (#) is set if the operator position is not in BE mode.

Only the last re–labelling

request of several SYSTEM.BPBT calls is executed when the PBT heartbeat message is sent. The SYSTEM.BPBT program may be called repeatedly until GB.ORPA.GB229 or GB.ORPA.GB230 receive a response. The re–labelling request from SYSTEM.BPBT is not executed and the return parameters GB.ORPA.GB229 and GB.ORPA.GB230 remain 0B if the process operation keyboard is re–labelled by an operator input which is performed between a SYSTEM.BPBT call and the next heartbeat message. An unfinished input via the process operation keyboard delays re–labelling by SYSTEM.BPBT until input is either terminated or cleared by the process operation keyboard. The latter happens if the process operation keyboard is not used for more than one minute.
