The common system variables of system blocks and user blocks are stored in a common system interface. The following data types can be distinguished: – GB.ORPA for binary variables and – GA.ORPA and FSA.ORPA for analog variables The initialization program specifies default values for the variables stored in GB.ORPA/GA.ORPA/ FSA.ORPA. The parameters marked by “1)”, “2)” or “3)” may be re–parameterized according to project requirements. The unmarked parameters may be interconnected or processed by TML/STEP (read only). It should be noted that the majority of these are internal parameters.

Default characters of the FC.ORPA block

 The FC.ORPA block contains from byte 16 the conversion field for printer output (bytes 0 to 15 are reserved for internal tasks); this code table is preset with the standard character set or the printer. If printers are used with AS 235 whose character set differs from the standard one, the block FC.ORPA has to be adjusted and the adjustment be activated via the binary variable GB.ORPA.223.This operator input initiates printout of the character with the decimal equivalent entered (cf. symbol set in Chapter 5.6.2 ) instead of the character previously entered under “initial index” in FC.ORPA. The decimal equivalents of the characters are also displayed in a field (.FCI) on the VDU.

CHECK Interface SL.PCHE

 The system data block SL.PCHE is the interface of the check algorithm (see Chap. 5.3 and 5.7.2.1). The system transfers fixed information via this interface. This information has the following meaning for the individual activities. To recognize these activities (not during interconnection and parameter assignment/process operation) the group code “CHECK processing” must be set in the ORPA.
