Configuration comprises the interconnection of individual function blocks the instructions for creating new blocks (STEP M, PICTURE, LOG and TML instructions) all utility instructions (e.g. screen scrolling instruction ”F;”) Configuration instructions are entered via the configuration keyboard.
In addition to these configuration instructions, so–called “process control functions” exist which an operator uses via the process communication keyboard or, in an indirect manner, via OS systems.
The instructions are described in this chapter and listed under the following collective terms: – Standard configuration instructions – Block configuration instructions – Instructions for creating new function blocks (user function blocks) – Instructions for setting up new blocks (user function blocks and programs) – STEP M instructions – BILD and PROT instructions – TML instructions
Standard Configuration Instructions
This instruction is used to output the screen contents on the preselected printer. The default selection can be made via the instruction “GE,...;”. This instruction is used for immediate processor stop.
The blinking message “STOP” appears on the bottom left–hand area of the screen. Continuation is only possible after the processor has been reset. This operator input is only possible in offline mode, i.e. after “STO;” has been entered. The “HALT;” instruction, which is intended only for service purposes, sets the processor to a defined state if modules are to be replaced with a battery–backed RAM. Clear RAM, restart upon “STO;” LOES; The whole RAM area is cleared and a restart performed after this instruction has been entered. This operator input is only possible in offline mode, i.e. after “STO;”. The automation system is in a configurable state after the instruction has been executed.
