The configuration may not be altered while filing is in progress. The file name may not exceed 16 characters. The operator position is disabled as long as filing is in progress. Filing can be continued after the first diskette by entering. AR; All diskettes will then have the same file name. If different names are required, they must be entered for each diskette after “AR,...;“.  If a name is not specified for the first diskette (only instruction “AR;”), the characters entered for any previous operation will be assumed as name (e.g. W=55;). A file name containing a semicolon cannot be entered in the filing instruction.

The operator position 

will not be released until filing has been completed using the required number of diskettes. Only the part of the AS memory actually used will be filed. If a diskette is full and the user RAM not yet completely copied, a blinking white “DISK” on a red background, which appears on the bottom left of the screen, prompts insertion of the next diskette.  The diskettes used must match the format selected and the diskette name must be identical with the name of the first diskette.

If an attempt is made to use the instruction AR,filename; 

for filing onto a diskette which already contains a configuration, the instruction is rejected and error message F 422 (diskette full) displayed. If this configuration is no longer needed, it may be overwritten using the instruction. AR,filename:U; The diskette name and the file name are accepted from the previous diskette. If several diskettes are required for filing, the overwrite option remains valid as long as ”AR;” is used for filing onto these diskettes. The overwrite option must be re–entered if a new file name is specified. Any attempt to write repeatedly onto a diskette during the same filing procedure will be rejected.  – Overwriting is only possible if the formats are identical. – The delimiter ”:” is not a valid part of the filing name.
