The system enters the number of diskettes required for filing and the consecutive number of the individual diskettes into the directories of the filing diskettes “FD” is displayed in white on a red background in the centre of the message line while filing is in progress. This display, which blinks if a fault has occurred, disappears after the filing process has been completed.

This instruction is used for displaying a diskette directory on the screen, together with the diskette format and the format selected in the AS. If parameter GB 260 has been set, the diskette format is automatically adjusted while reading the directory If the parameter GB 260 = 1B has been set, the diskette format is automatically selected before loading. If this parameter has not been set, the value of the parameter GB 261 determines the format used

The instruction 

LA; can be used to continue loading with the second diskette if all diskettes have the same file name. All other operator positions and instructions, except “DI;” are inhibited until all the diskettes required have been loaded. The diskettes can be loaded in any order. A system start–up is performed after loading has been successfully completed. As for filing, the word ”DISK” which appears on the bottom left–hand side of the monitor prompts insertion of the next diskette.“FD” is displayed in the centre of the message line while loading is in progress. This display disappears after the loading process has been completed. “FD” blinks until ”QM;” is entered for acknowledgement if a fault has occured. Subsequently, entering ”QM;” acknowledges I&C alarms in the message line.

Fault indication acknowledgement

 All fault indications related to floppy disk functions (blinking FD) remain displayed either until they are acknowledged by entering ”QM;” or a new diskette instruction has been entered. I&C alarms in the message line (topmost screen line) can only be acknowledged by ”QM;” if a blinking FD is not waiting (second QM operation).
