This warning always refers to the last STEP line to have been entered. It does not influence the compilation and always disappears once the next line is entered. Newly defined STEP M programs in AS 220 mode (no data field presetting in line 2) reject command lines regarding data field presetting (“GB,...;“ “GM,...;” “GT,...;”) and issue F 540. These command lines cannot be used for changing over to AS 230 mode (or vice versa) at a later point in time. STEP M programs which have been defined in older versions (< E210) are executed without any changes and may be programmed in the old fashion. In particular, the compiler mode can be changed within the program. The mode currently valid for the last command line to have been entered is displayed in the top–right hand corner on the screen, and may change from line to line.
STEP M Instruction Set
STEP M programs can only be executed in AS 230 mode with minimum computing time, and are particulary suitable for processing GB, GM or GT data fields. A TML program with preceding SET instruction is better for reading or writing parameters from other blocks.The STEP M instructions possible are listed in the table below, which is structured according to the following criteria – General configuration instructions/page change – Hardware inputs/outputs – Flags – Timers – General function block outputs – STEP block outputs – Parentheses – Negation/No operation – Branch/subroutine call
