Direct pointer setting. Any GT data block can be addressed, including “GT.1”. Subsequent instructions for interconnection of timers refer to the data block specified. Indirect pointer setting. The GT data block specified in the VS/KS data record is addressed. Subsequent instructions for interconnection of timers refer to the data block specified here The command “SVT,elno;” disables the respective timer. The next access to this timer (i.e. the next “SVT” instruction) is only executed after the timer has been enabled by the reset instruction ”RT,elno;”.

Entering STEP M Instructions 

NEMO framing instructions and STEP M instructions can be entered via the configuration keyboard once the keyswitch on the process communication keyboard has been set to authorization level 3.Any number between D, DE, A, AE, delete or correction instruction can be given between NEMO and END. The name of a STEP block is limited to 4 alphanumeric characters and must start with a letter.As already mentioned, the compiler only works in AS 230 mode if the first instruction is a printer setting (e.g. GB,*;). A STEP M program created in AS 230 mode can therefore never start with a comment line. Please refer to Chapter 5.7.4 for additional information regarding the comment instruction.

Installation of a STEP BLOCK in a Processing Level 

STEP blocks are indirectly installed in the individual processing levels. A STEP block is activated by interconnecting it with input STEU of a VS/KS block, which in its turn is entered in a processing level.Instruction ”GB,bname;” denotes a pointer setting to the corresponding GB block for the subsequent STEP M instructions up to the next GB instruction. Error message F 502 appears (block not available) if the GB block is not specified before the STEP M instructions are entered.Pointer setting to a GB block can also be performed indirectly (multiplex function) in a VS/KS block assigned to a STEP block. The STEP block then contains the multiplex instruction ”GB,*;”. The multiplex input “GBX” of the VS/KS block must be interconnected with the required GB block.
