Data (block inputs/outputs) and logic functions are combined and the result assigned to a block output in all three instruction languages.
Result assignments are performed by:
TML lines are used to give instructions for logic data operations (block inputs/outputs). The operation type is specified by a TML operator (e.g. +, –, AND, = :,...) or a TML instruction (e.g. IF ... THEN ... ELSE ...). The data has already been provided (exception: auxiliary cells and constants; cf. Chapter 5.7.3). A TML line, as input or output, part of a block which has already been defined and clearly specified by its (block) address, i.e. block type and block name number. Each data element has an element name and/or number inside the block (data record).
Call by the System
A block is the higher–order unit of all instructions (i.e. for concatenated/nested instructions containing TML lines). The following different categories of TML blocks exist (cf. Chapter 5.4): – Function algorithm – Check algorithm – Initialization blocks – Subroutine blocks (see Chap. 5.7.2.2) – Internal subroutines (see Chap. 5.7.2.2) While the individual algorithms are assigned to a specific function block type, subroutines and initialization blocks are independent of a function block type. Their names consist of four alphanumeric characters, starting with a letter.
