By combining the MUX instruction with the SEQUENCE instruction and a loop display (PICTURE instruction for displaying control steps, current step/set step/last step, waiting time and step criterial) can be used for creating function blocks which are especially suited to the multiplex control technique and recipe processing After an instruction has been inserted into a program page, a new page is started from this instruction onwards. Frequent insertion results in a much higher number of program pages than is actually required. The instruction “FO;“ compresses the program printout to full pages, i.e. superfluous PAGE instructions are eliminated.Any number of comment lines may be inserted between TML lines for data operation or multi–line instructions.Comment require memory space (1 Byte per character). Comment and block are output together on screen or printer. One comment line requires approximately 10 ms computing time.

Comments provide a much greater degree of TML block transparency. 

A generous use of comments in each block is therefore reocmmended. If the memory space used is required for other purposes, the following procedure is recommended after the test phase.– Printer block and comments (= documentation including comments) – Delete comment line using the instruction ”LS,lineno;”. – Print block again (= documentation without comments) – Result: Clear documentation including comments without excessive use of memory space Comment lines can also be entered prior to “ROUTINE(no);” as routine headline.

Two types of operators are used to create

 new data or to change old data. – Logic operations Logic operators are used to combine data. The result assignment ”=:” is used to allocate the result to one or several result data. A logic operation must be terminated within one line. a) Arithmetic operators + Addition – Subtraction * Multiplication / Division Operation data types: analog, digital and time counter data Result data types: analog, digital and time counter data
