Processing External Devices TML programs do not provide any access to modules, monitor, keyboard, bus, driver block structure etc. Except:Output on screen or printer via PICTURE or LAYOUT blocks. Status word transfer via bus using the SYSTEM.STAT subroutine.

Error Codes

 When a TML block is executed, the system provides a set of error codes which can be addressed wither globally using the collective term ERROR or individually by the instruction “ERROR:Bx;”. The following error codes can be read, cleared and set by the user: ERROR:B15 1 = Restart :B13 1 = A variable which has not yet been defined or written to has been read :B12 1 = An attempt has been made to write to a write–protected variable :B11 1 = Addressing error :B10 1 = Storage error :B7 1 = Instruction cannot be executed :B6 1 = Incorrect data type in arithmetic operation :B5 1 = Arithmetic error; fixed point overflow :B4 1 = Arithmetic error; positive or negative floating point overflow :B3 1 = Arithmetic error; division by zero

Input Errors/Input Messages

 Input errors are displayed in the operator input line (see Fig 2.10) on the monitor. These errors are shown on the monitor only, as they result from incorrect entries and are recognized by the operation program. They do not cause a dangerous system status (error list). Input errors are detected and classified by the operation program. The individual input error numbers are listed in the following table (error list).
