The syntax of the created configuration is checked in the PC/PG. The related instruction list, which can be loaded into an automation system, is created automatically once detected errors have been eliminated. Using the communication software integrated in PROGRAF, the automation system can be read and an upload system documentation created after modifications to the automation structure have been performed in online mode.

The integration of PROGRAF AS into the overall structure is explained in the following Figure:The Figure shows that PROGRAF AS and AS 235 can be interconnected either via operator input channel 1 or 2 via the CS 275 bus. PROGRAF AS and central configuration via the bus can only be used if all AS 220 or AS 235 systems connected to the bus contain a software variant from F03 onwards. The device settings specified in Chapter 5.10.2 are required for configuration and documentation communications.

The central configuring station integrated in PROGRAF

 AS enables the user to perform central configuration of the AS 235 systems connected to the bus. All configuration instructions, including loading and filing via hard disk, are possible from PC/PG via an N–AT module after the system has been logged on to an AS. The selected lists (blocks and instruction lists) are displayed on the PC/PG in black–and–white representation. The same applies for selected loop displays, i.e. color information and attributes are not transferred. Operator–process communication is therefore not permitted in this manner.
