Monitoring of module configuring If the I/O module fails whilst a job is being sent to it, an error message is sent to the configuring software after approx. 25 seconds. At least one configuring message must be sent within 15 minutes of the logging–on for module configuring, otherwise the AS disconnects the channel for bus configuring. Each configuring message restarts this monitoring function. It was necessary to select this large value for the monitoring time because of the configuring software in the PC or PG.

There are three exceptions in the module number

 Driver block AE The AE block can operate with the TELEPERM ME module 6DS1731–8xx. If this module is to be used via the module configuring, it is not possible to use the last channel (31) of the module. If the last channel (31) is used in the AE block, this module number is automatically identified as disabled since it is not possible to differentiate between the configurable module 6DS1731–8xx and the non–configurable modules. Module number 0 The I/O module with number 0 cannot be addressed by the configuring software (in the PC or PG); do not use a configurable I/O module in this slot.

The AS–inherent accumulator is designed for a max.

 length of 3 words. Depending on the data type, either mantissa 1 or both mantissas are read/written with analog values. When digitizing an analog value, the accumulator is modified as follows: The exponent is set to 15 and the mantissa contains the digital value. When a digital value (ID or I) is written, only mantissa 1 of the accumulator or the low order byte of mantissa 1 are transmitted; in so doing, the exponent is not taken into account. When a single–precision analog value is read, mantissa 2 is set to 0. When a digital value is read (I, ID), the exponent in the accumulator is set to 15 and the exponent mantissa 2 + to 0. The digital value is in mantissa 1 (if the digital value of the type “I”, it is in the low–order byte of mantissa 1 and the high–order byte contains the value 00H).
