NI PXIe-6544 Synchronization module

The following voltages are derived from the power supply: – L + (24 V) feeds the six I/O module slots – PM Signalling–circuit voltage for six I/O modules in the basic unit – + 5 V Logic voltage for central unit modules (CPU 235, memory) and for standard peripheral interface modules – + 5 V Logic voltage feeding the I/O peripheral busses 1 + 2 (i.e. 5 + V bus supply of the extension units 1 to 6) – + 24 V Supply voltage for directly connected configuration keyboard (without PBT) – + 24 V Supply voltage for mini floppy disk unit (MDE). The + 5 V logic voltage can be switched on and off (with a separate switch (S2)) for service purposes without affecting the + 24 V supply of the six I/O modules.

Alarm logic

 The ML1 alarm logic provides central monitoring of the supply voltages. The CPU 235 assumes a defined state when the logic voltage L + and PM are routed via individual fuses in the power supply tier (SVZ) of the basic cabinet to the I/O peripheral modules/process interfaces in the extension units 1 to 6.The red fault LED (blinking, 2 Hz) indicates the state of the cabinet lamp contact of ML1 which also causes the cabinet lamps of basic and extension cabinet to blink. The alarm logic converts the door contact (TK1), cabinet temperature (ÜT1), fan contact (LK1) and reserve contact (RES1) signals into logic signals

The TK1 signal triggers an I&C alarm LTM.

 The logic voltage is automatically switched off if an overtemperature condition (ÜT1) lasts longer than 1 minute. A heat exchanger monitoring signal can be connected to the LK1 fan contact, which is normally not used. This signal triggers an I&C alarm, and appropriate action must be initiated to prevent overtemperature in the basic cabinet and subsequent shutdown of the system.The RES1 reserve contact input can be used as required for generating an I&C alarm or for connecting an external minute synchronization signal. A floating 24 V signal input is provided in the blinking clock generator for this signal.
