The second alarm logic ML2 for an extension cabinet is installed in the basic unit. This alarm logic converts the door contact (TK2), cabinet temperature (ÜT2), fan contact (LK2) and reserve contact signals (RES2) from the extension cabinet into logic signals. The TK2 signal triggers an I&C alarm LTM. On overtemperature ÜT2 the logic voltage is not switched off, only an I&C alarm is issued. A heat exchanger monitoring signal can be connected to the LK2 fan contact, which is normally not used. This signal triggers an I&C alarm, and appropriate action must be initiated to prevent overtemperature in the basic cabinet and subsequent shutdown of the system. The RES2 reserve contact input can be used as required in GB.ORPA.

Further central alarm indicators

 A red LED on the CPU 235 indicates that the central processor is in STOP mode. This state is indicated after an event serious enough to prevent continuance of operation (or after entering HALT). If no malfunctions are present, a central reset ZRS can restart the system from this condition. The central reset signal can be triggered by ML1 or a reset key on the front panel of the CPU 235. The resulting initialization modes are described in Chapter 2.3.8. The watchdog responds and generates a reset signal (PCPKL) for signal interface output modules if the CPU 235 is in STOP. This signal sequence is also activated when the reset key is depressed.

LEDs on the memory module indicate

 the initialization states and/or occurring faults. The LEDs in the standard peripherals area are also module–related status or fault indicators (cf. interface modules for MDE, N8 for CS 275 and I/O bus communication modules). The communication paths are monitored cyclically if a process communication keyboard has been connected. the PBT display shows ”AS/OS SYSTEM UNKLAR” (AS/OS system not ready) if this communication fails.
