If the central processor goes to STOP during program execution or whilst performing a cold or warm restart, the following occur: – The red LED on the control unit module lights up. STOP status. – The green LED (PROZ) is extinguished and the red fault LED on the power supply module lights up. – The message ”AS/OS SYSTEM UNKLAR” (AS/OS system not ready) appears on the process communication keyboard. – The control modules are switched over from mode C to mode A (watchdog function of control modules). – Control modules (2–channel) signal CB to 0 at backplane connector 2. – Output modules (binary/analog) – outputs are reset (ARS jumper).

System Monitoring I

The central unit detects the failure of the + 5 V logic voltage. The central processor goes to STOP and sets the RAM main memory to “data protection” before the supply voltages drop. II. a) The system attempts a warm restart if serious program execution faults which can no longer be handled repeatedly occur. b) The system sets the central processor to “cleared user configuration” status if a memory fault or a ZRS occurs before a warm restart (initiated by RSOF) has been completed (de–organized RAM memory content). System operation can only be resumed by a cold restart (Cf. Chapter 2.3.8.1 ”Initialization Response of the System”).

If a software fault causes a program breakdown

during system initialization, the last 10 block headers before the address lists contained in the RAM can be listed on the default I&C message printer and transferred via CS 275 bus to logged–on devices (OS). This function requires the setting of code bit no. 3 (#) in GA.ORPA.GA7. IV. If the central processor goes to STOP after BOOT, this may be due to a previous fault which caused permanent damage to the user configuration. A battery failure (BAU) must then be simulated during RUN or BOOT which causes the system to start–up with a cold restart and cleared RAM. The user system is then reloaded.
