Operator guidance; central unit ready (Fig. 7.12) Direct operator control/monitoring (operator station) A message in the monitor message line and on the printer is issued to inform the operator of a pending system fault. The system alarm can then be decoded and the fault eliminated by service personnel. – System message number, – cabinet lamp and – common alarm LED (alarm logic) are used to guide the service engineer to individual modules in the automation system

Central operator control/monitoring 

System alarms (S 300 to S 399, S 620, S 621, S 630, S 631, S 700 to S 799) pending in the AS 235 automation system are transferred to all logged–on systems via the CS 275 bus system. The information may be displayed and logged at a central point. – VDU display The system alarms arriving from the CS 275 bus system initiate the generation of a system fault message in the central system. This message is displayed as a signal in the message line to indicate an external system alarm (see Fig. 7.13). MS 236 systems facilitate processing of system alarms by a special filter block (FILS) (cf. MS 236, Technical description).

Printer output

 The system alarms arriving from the CS 275 bus system are logged individually together with bus number and device number. The fault which occurred in the AS 235 automation system can be eliminated once the system message has been decoded. – Cabinet lamp and – common alarm LED (alarm logic) are used to guide the service engineer to individual modules in the AS 230/235 automation system
