N8/N–AS cannot be parameterized is displayed. The bus interface module does not react correctly to the check request from the monitoring program if it is the only device connected to the bus and the bus connector has not been inserted on its front panel. Automatic re–parameterizations are then performed and S 398 issued. N–AS plug–in check: S 387 BUSSTECK Front connector not inserted The plug–in check for the local bus interface connector is possible from software variant F03 onwards with operation of an N–AS. Monitoring must be activated.
Message Frame Types
All bus message frames used by the AS 23x system are discussed in the following chapters. The shown structure of received contains the whole message frame, whereas the structure of transmitted contains the useful data only. Abbreviations: BA Bus address TA Device address/number Kinfo Link information = internal message frame code for the receiver PR Process computer Bst Block Genr System–related device code in the time message frame: AS 230 and AS 235 = 4 AS 231 and MS 236 = 5 DI Direct communication (with up to 6 devices per transmitter block) CD Common data communication (local bus only)
Log on/off for Status and Messages
initiates generation of the message frame on system level (IU10) and transfer to the N8/N–AS interface module. Though a message frame may be logged on for status exchange with an other subsystem, this should not be done due to the occurrence of additional processor load (message frames are received but not processed). Received message frames are processed on the N8/N–AS driver level (PU7). Message frame structure (message frame received by AS 23x)Up to 16 devices can log on for message exchange and status with an AS 23x. Additional attempts to log on will be rejected.Word 0 contains the number of devices. The next 8 words contain the bus/device numbers of the individual devices.
