The bus/device number is issued in decimal representation. The left–hand byte contains the bus number, the right–hand byte the device number. Example: Bus 1, device 2 = 258 (see Chap. 8.3.7, ”Selective Enabling of ...”) The data entered in the elements .STAL and .MELL is output in plaintext when used as status information. Cf. Chapter 5.1.1 “Output of a system status display”.

Initialization Message Frame (Y Function)
The initialization message frame for the process computer converts external into internal parameter names. This facilitates a fast and direct access in online mode. The incoming message frame is received via the operator interface. Initialization must also be activated after a re–configuration of the AS 23x if parameters are involved which are used by the process computer. Process is performed on the operator input level (IU10) which also generates the return message frame to the process computer. As each message frame requires extensive search runs, the system must wait for the response to the previous message frame before a new message frame can be transmitted (handshake).
Log on/off Linking Blocks
An operator input message frame is transmitted from the receiver end in order to log on/off the AKE/ BKE/MKE/ZKE linking blocks with the corresponding transmitter blocks. The message frame distinguishes between log on/off for CD, DI or a process computer. Processing is performed on the operator input level (IU10) which also generates the return message frame to the requesting subsystem.
The selected mode is specified in the log–on message frame from the process computer. If the process computer logs on first, the CD mode is preferred.
