This last set of data is transferred with each new block of data and can be used for module diagnostics. The Write Block ID associated with the block requests data from the ControlLogix processor. Under normal program operation, the module sequentially sends read blocks and requests write blocks.

Software Reset Block (9998/9999) 

This block is sent from the ControlLogix processor to the module (output image) when the module is required to perform a warm-boot (software reset) operation. This block is commonly sent to the module any time configuration data modifications are made. This will cause the module to read the new configuration information and to restart. The following table describes the format of the control block.Because many of the parameters set in the configuration file require the program to restart, this function works the same as the cold-boot function. It will cause the module to exit and restart the program.
