On the PROFIBUS-DP, the DP/CAN coupler is a normal participant. The I/O data of the CANopen® participants is shown in the PROFIBUS in a transparent and freely configurable manner. The DP/CAN coupler is integrated in the hardware configurator with a GSD file and can be completely configured there. Additional tools are not necessary. On PROFIBUS, all standard transfer rates up to 12 Mbps are supported; on the CAN bus up to 1 Mbps. The PROFIBUS address is set using a DIP switch. Parameterization of the CANopen participants using SDO frames and administration of emergency messages is also possible. Alternatively, the DP/CAN coupler can also be used as a CAN Layer 2 device on the CAN bus. This makes it possible to also integrate customer-specific CAN protocols via PROFIBUS.

One-Way Positional Accuracy

The one-way positioning accuracy is defined as the maximum positional difference between the commanded position and the actual stop position when a series of positioning moves are performed in the same rotation direction. (Refer to JIS B-6201-1987). The FHA-C mini actuator incorporates a Harmonic Drive® gear which inherently has high rotational position accuracy. Because of the gearing's high ratio, any rotational error at the input (i.e. motor shaft position error or motor feedback error) is reduced by a factor of the ratio (1/ratio) and typically becomes negligible at the output. Therefore most of the error is represented by the transmission error of the Harmonic Drive gear itself.

Functional Description 

The TPMC815 uses the COM20020 ARCNET Controller from SMSC. The COM20020 registers are accessible in PCI Space using the local spaces of the PCI9030 PCI Target Chip. The complete TPMC815 ARCNET interface is controlled by the COM20020 ARCNET Controller. Please refer to the COM20020 data sheet for a detailed functional description. The TPMC815 also provides an 8 x dip-switch. Software may use the dip-switch setting for programming the COM20020 Node-ID Register.
