Follow these steps to access the administrator’s Phone Manager:
1. Enter the following command into the address bar of your browser window whereis the IP address assigned to the phone.
2. Enter the login name and password The default administrator login user name is admin and the default password is password.
The administrator password can be changed using the AdminPassword parameter in the
configuration file.
Some networks require browsers to use a proxy
server to access the Internet. If you have problems
accessing the phone’s Web interface, it may be because the browser uses a proxy server. To bypass the
proxy server when accessing the phone's Web interface, follow these steps:
1. Open Microsoft® Internet Explorer.
2. From the Tools drop-down menu, select Internet Options.
3. Select the Connections tab and select LAN Settings.
4. If Use a proxy server for your LAN is not selected and you are not using a proxy server, you can
quit at this step. If Use a proxy server for your LAN is selected, select Advanced.
5. In the Exceptions box, enter the IP address of your phone.
6. Select OK to close all of the dialog boxes.
If you plan to access a large number of phones directly by IP address, you may want to consider turning the
proxy off altogether.
Navigating the Phone Manager
Once the minimum required parameters are set, you can access numerous settings and configurations via
the administrator’s Phone Manager. Phone Manager makes administering and configuring the IP phones
easy and quick.In many cases, once settings have been changed and saved, you will need to reset the
phone before the changes take effect. This can be done either from the phone or the Web
interface. Refer to Resetting the Phone on page 55.
