Selecting a Site for the Switch

 Observe the following requirements when choosing a site for your switch: ‰ If you plan to install the switch in an equipment rack, check to be sure that the rack is safely secured and that it will not tip over. Devices in a rack should be installed starting at the bottom, with the heavier devices near the bottom of the rack. ‰ If you are installing the switch on a table, be sure that the table is level and secure. ‰ The power outlet for the switch should be located near the unit and should be easily accessible.
