MTL MTL831B analogue transmitter
The MTL831B is an analogue transmitter manufactured by MTL Instruments, a UK-based company that produces industrial process control equipment, particularly in the field of intrinsic safety. The MTL831B analogue transmitter is designed to transfer hazardous area input signals to the safe area down a data highway consisting of a single twisted pair cable. It is intrinsically safe and can be mounted in Zone 0 hazardous areas or Class I, Division 1 hazardous locations .
The MTL831B can monitor up to 16 inputs from THC or millivolt sources, or up to 15 two-, three-, or four-wire RTDs within a hazardous area. The transmitter is designed to be mounted close to the field instruments in an enclosure such as the ENC8 or ENC83 .
The MTL831B transmitter is part of the MTL830 series, which includes other products such as the MTL838B-MBF receiver and the MTL3052 software isolator(s). The MTL831B transmitter can be multi-dropped with other MTL831B transmitters, and up to 30 multi-dropped Modbus slaves can be connected to the MTL838B-MBF receiver. The MTL830 series multiplexer system diagram shows how these components fit together .
MTL Instruments works closely with DCS companies and system integrators to provide explosion-proof products to factories in the oil and petrochemical industries. The company also produces surge protectors and lightning protection devices.
