The Voltage and Current programming channels have resolutions of 12-bits. In addition to these two channels there are two corresponding "soft limit" values that can be programmed. The soft limit is simply a programmed maximum or limit point. If, for example, the Voltage channel is programmed to some value in excess of the soft limit, the voltage output will not be allowed to exceed the soft limit. If the soft limit is increased then the output will increase until the initial programming level is reached. The default soft limit for both channels is full scale.
TRIM PROGRAM COMMANDS (SOFT PROGRAMMING CALIBRATION)
The RSTL does not have any potentiometers to adjust the zero and full scale programming levels of the current and voltage channels. The calibration, or "trimming" function is accomplished by using TRIMDACS to adjust these parameters. The four trim levels are programmed using hexadecimal input coding.
