The 220 Vac version works with 3 phase four wire systems. The Input AC is rectified by CR1. A raw DC bus is created with a parallel combination of C1 and C2. Refer to main schematic. The power is processed by four high frequency transformers coupled with full bridge buck converters. The raw DC bus is connected to the input of a full bridge inverter. The output from the bridge is controlled by the duty cycle of the PWM. For 220 Vac input, all four modules are connected to the parallel combination of C1 and C2.
POWER FLOW
The AC power enters through TB1 on the rear of the unit and passes through the A300 line filter board. The load side of the line filter is connected to the front panel circuit breaker. The raw DC bus is created by the series or parallel combination of C1 and C2. L1 controls the peak charging current which is inherent in capacitive input filters. Additionally, L1 also increases the conduction angle, thereby improving the power factor of the system. The inverter board consists of four full bridge inverters. The output of the inverter is a 33 kHz PWM square wave, which is fed to the primary of transformers T1A to T1D. The secondaries of the transformers are connected to a full wave rectifier and an LC averaging filter. Each module is connected to the output bus bar. The output has preload resistors mounted on the heatsink assembly. The output filter consists of L2A-2D, L3, C7, C8, C9, and C10. An RC snubber is used to minimize the voltage spike across the diodes.
