Holding brake

The backlash-free permanent-field single-area holding brake works in accordance with the stall AC current principle, i.e. the brake needs to energized for releasing. On all LSx-motors the holding brake is mounted directly behind the flange (side A) to provide an optimal holding torque. The holding brake is generally switched on and off during standstill. When using the holding brake as an emergency stop brake you must pay attention to the maximum permissible friction energy (WR).
