When no sensor is connected to the Nova II and it is turned on, the message “Head Disconnected" appears. In this mode, the user can adjust the startup screen, either the standard power/energy screens or other specialized screens. He can adjust the baud rate for optimum communication with PC, choose the appropriate analog output Max. value, or the user can zero the instrument to eliminate any offsets. He can adjust the real time date and time setting.

Display Mode 

The Nova II can operate in the standard power/energy measurement screen or needle type display or can display the information in specialized forms: an attenuation screen, a tune/exposure screen, a power/energy density screen, a screen normalized to some value or a screen with limits. Select “display mode”, enter and set the screen to the type you want the instrument to start up in and then exit by pressing the enter button again. (For more details on the various screen options
