The Nova II thermopile sensors can measure both power and single shot energy. See Sections 4.4 and 4.5 for details. To change from power to energy measurement or vice versa do the following: 1. To go from the main power measurement screen power to energy measurement, press "energy". 2. To go from the energy measurement screen to power measurement press the "power" soft key

Startup and Configuration of Defaults 

If you are planning to do measurements of the same type most of the time, you can set up the Nova II so that it automatically starts up in the measurement mode desired. Since these settings are saved in the sensor "smart connector", you can save different settings for different sensors.
