This chapter contains general installation instructions for the 2301D-ST control. Power requirements, environmental precautions and location considerations are included to determine the best location for the control. Additional information includes unpacking instructions, electrical connections and an installation checkout procedure.

The 2301D-ST is a field-configurable control 

designed to perform the basic speed and load control functions for single-valve steam turbines. It can be configured to allow a user to match the control’s functionality to the application. Configuration and service (dynamic adjustments made) is done via a laptop computer, connected to the control’s RS-232 communications port and utilizing Woodward’s Watch Window program which is a Windows-based PC software program. These configuration and dynamic settings can be set, changed, tuned and saved using this same program. See Chapter 3 for instructions on configuring the control for your specific application.
