Any of the four relays can be programmed to function as a level switch. When programmed as a level switch the relay will change state when the selected parameter reaches the programmed level (energizes when value is higher the programmed level).For fail-safe operation, the Shutdown relay should be energized during normal system operation, and will de-energize when a shutdown occurs.

These discrete outputs 

are low-side drivers with a maximum output current of 160 mA. The discrete output drivers are isolated from the control’s internal power supply, but not from each other and are powered by an external +12 Vdc or +24 Vdc source connected at terminals 39(+) and 40(–). Refer to Figure 2-3 for plant wiring information.
