MEASUREMENT OF NO-LOAD LOSSES 

The no-load test is performed when one of the windings is unconnected to power supply (usually the H.V. winding) while the other winding is supplied with rated voltage at rated frequency. Then the no-load losses ( P0 ) and the no-load current ( I0 ) are measured. The test is usually carried out between 90 % - 115 % of UN voltage at equal interval and corresponding values to the rated voltages are determined.
