RELIANCE S-25004-1 Channel contact module

S-25004-1 each channel contains a programmable BRG. Each BRG consists of an 8-bit Time Constant Register (TCR), an 8-bit down counter, a Control Register and a flip-flop on the output to provide a square wave signal out. Because of an input flip-flop, the maximum output of the BRG is one-fourth the input clock frequency. Maximum frequency occurs when the divide-by-four mode is selected and the TCR is loaded with the minimum count of "01" HEX. The BRG can be programmed to drive the transmitter (TxC), the receiver (RxC), both (BRG output TxC and RxC), or neither (TxC and RxC are inputs). The BRG should be disabled before the CPU writes to the TCR.
