The PXI-5600 module operates at an internal temperature of approximately 38 °C (100 °F) under conditions of proper airflow and 23 °C (73 °F) ambient temperatures. The downconverter module front panel may reach approximately 33 °C (91 °F) during normal operation.

Query the internal temperature of the PXI-5600 by calling the niRFSA Perform Thermal Correction VI or the niRFSA_PerformThermalCorrection function. The internal temperature is also monitored by the hardware modules. When the niRFSA Perform Thermal Correction VI or the niRFSA_PerformThermalCorrection function is called, NI-RFSA checks the temperature to adjust the output level to correct for changes in temperature. Separately, a state machine built into the hardware monitors the temperature of the RF enclosure for thermal shutdown conditions that could damage the equipment.
