96 channel, 5 V, TTL/CMOS, 24 mA, PCI digital I/O device - The PCI ‑ 6509 can directly drive external digital devices, such as solid-state relays (SSRs). Each port can be configured as an input or output, and the output does not require external power. The programmable power-on state feature allows users to configure the initial output state using software to ensure unobstructed and safe operation when connected to industrial actuators. In the event of a computer or application failure, the PCI ‑ 6509 can use a digital I/O watchdog to switch to a configurable safe output state to ensure that a failure state is detected and safe recovery occurs. Programmable input filters eliminate burrs/spikes and provide de jitter for digital switches/relays through software selectable digital filters.
